Services & fees

Everything in one relationship.

Most clients work with us on an ongoing basis for a fee based on the assets we manage. Others hire us hourly for a specific question or project. Either way, here is what to expect.

01

Investment management

  • A review of your current investments and a personalized portfolio designed around your needs, time horizon and risk tolerance
  • Year-round monitoring of your accounts
  • Meetings at least annually to review your accounts and update your goals
  • Written reports from us at least annually, in addition to the statements you receive from your account custodian
  • Recommendations for the investments inside your 401(k) or other workplace retirement plan
02

Tax-aware planning

  • At your request, a review of your tax return to identify planning opportunities
  • Tax-aware decisions in how your accounts are managed
  • At your request, coordination with your tax preparer, included in your advisory fee

We do not prepare tax returns or provide tax advice. Please consult your tax professional about your specific situation.

03

Retirement income & distribution planning

  • Analysis of your income needs today and in the future
  • An ongoing plan for funding those needs and helping maintain your standard of living
  • Distribution strategies for workplace retirement plans and IRAs
  • Beneficiary reviews for your IRAs and retirement plans

Inherited IRA rules changed under the SECURE Act. Most non-spouse beneficiaries must now empty an inherited IRA within 10 years. We will help you understand how the current rules may apply to the people you plan to leave accounts to.

04

Estate & family wealth coordination

  • At your request, a review of your current estate plan and your concerns, together with your attorney, included in your advisory fee
  • Account titling and beneficiary reviews coordinated with your wills and trusts
  • Help moving assets into your living trust or other trusts
  • Guidance on the practical steps after the death of a loved one

We do not provide legal advice. We work alongside your attorney as part of your team.

05

Insurance review

  • A review of the cost, coverage and fit of your existing policies
  • Consideration of insurance as part of estate planning
  • Updates on law changes that may affect your coverage or estate

Dave Denniston is also a licensed insurance agent. If you choose to buy insurance through him, he may earn a commission, which creates a conflict of interest. Insurance is offered by Dave individually, not through Centurion. You are never required to buy insurance through him and may use any agent you choose.

06

Confidentiality & security

  • Every team member with access to client information signs a confidentiality and nondisclosure agreement
  • Paper records are shredded, and our computers are protected by security software and hardware
  • We neither confirm nor deny whether any person is a client

For physicians

Planning for the first 20 years of practice.

Many of our clients are residents, fellows and attending physicians. Early-career decisions about insurance, retirement plans, debt and savings carry a long way, and we work to keep costs to a minimum while your income grows. Hourly engagements are available if you are not ready for ongoing management.

How fees work

Simple and disclosed.

Portfolio management. An annual fee from 1.50% down to 0.50% of the assets we manage, depending on account size (negotiable above $5 million), billed monthly in arrears. Portfolio clients also receive financial planning advice on request at no additional charge.

Hourly financial planning. Up to $350 per hour, with the rate set in your written agreement.

Our fee schedules, billing practices and any conflicts of interest are described in our Form ADV Part 2A, which you will receive before you sign an advisory agreement. Fees may be negotiable, and lower fees for comparable services may be available elsewhere. Advisory fees reduce your account value. You may also pay other costs, such as fund operating expenses and custodian fees, that are separate from our fee.

About the professionals we work with. When we coordinate with attorneys, CPAs, tax preparers or other professionals, those firms are not affiliated with or employed by Centurion Financial Strategies, LLC. A referral is not a blanket recommendation or endorsement. You decide whether to hire any professional and whether their services are right for you. We do not supervise these firms and take no responsibility for monitoring the services they provide.
